Is Alpha Readers a good program for my child with learning needs or a disability?
Alpha Readers is an adaptable program suitable for all children. If your child has learning needs or a disability they are most welcome. Our teachers are trained in inclusive education and are experienced at differentiating learning experiences to include and empower children of all abilities. Please email us or leave a comment in your sign-up form if you would like to let us know more about your child or make any further inquiries.
Can Alpha Readers provide extension or enrichment English lessons for my child?
Alpha Readers is an adaptable program suitable for all children. If your child is bored at school or finds their schoolwork too easy, our programs can provide them with challenging and interesting learning experiences.

What does a typical lesson look like at Alpha Academy Eastwood?
Lessons at Alpha Academy Eastwood last for 1 hour. Students typically participate in one lesson per week. The recommended format for learning is the group programs. Students are matched with other children of similar age and ability. Groups can be any number up to 5 children.
Lessons at Alpha Readers consist of activities that develop skills in phonics, reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, speaking and listening.
All lessons are designed to be fun and engaging for children.
Who are the teachers at Alpha Academy Eastwood?
Our team is made up of experienced university trained professionals passionate about quality English education for children.
Will Alpha Academy help my child do well at school?
Alpha Academy runs programs designed by qualified and experienced Primary School teachers. Lessons are planned in accordance with the NSW Syllabus documents used by all schools in NSW. Activities are chosen with care to develop skills relevant for English learning in all schools.
Should my child participate in a group or individual lesson?
Group lessons are the recommended format for Alpha Academy programs. Children are placed in groups of up to 5 children of similar age and ability. Learning in a group helps to develop students’ academic skills and confidence. In some cases, children are recommended individual lessons for example if they have extensive needs for one on one support.
Does a parent or guardian have to stay with the child during the lesson?
Due to COVID-19 restrictions parents are asked not to enter the classroom. Parents may say goodbye to their child at the door. Alpha Academy is located at an easy walking distance from Eastwood Shopping Mall (5 minute walk). Parents are welcome to leave the site during the hour lesson and return at the end to pick up their child.
Please note that all children must be picked up by a parent or guardian at the classroom entrance at the end of the lesson. No child will be allowed to leave on their own unless prior permission is given in written form. Late arrival from a parent or guardian picking up their child may result in a late fee.
Where do Alpha Academy lessons take place?
Alpha Academy currently meets in a classroom at St Philip’s Eastwood Anglican Church. The address is 29 Clanalpine St, Eastwood, NSW 2122. Further details on where to find the room will be emailed to you when you book a free assessment and/or register for Alpha Readers. You may also choose to participate in online lessons.
